A. Datta

Author

As a kid and as a teenager Datta was never a good amateur cricketer, not even average, but insisted on letting everyone bowl and keep wicket whenever he was made captain. He also started the batting order with the guys who were the least likely to get a chance to bat with practically any of the others as captains. Winning a casual open-to-everyone game at school or at the neighborhood playground was much less important than giving everyone a fair chance. Datta holds a major in English from the Indira Gandhi National Open University, a Diploma in RDBMS from Software Solution Integrated and a PG Diploma from Annamalai University. In his 20s he developed a few websites and brought up over a dozen cats the most eminent of whom were Goopy, Bagha, Sweety, Toto and Kitty. Thereafter he wrote a few "near-useless books" by his own admission but did some pretty highly acclaimed translations of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore's works.
